Inclusion training is all about equality, diversity, and treating people with the fairness and respect they deserve. We help businesses look at how they behave at work and how their behavior might affect the people they are working with. Our Inclusion Training program focuses on what inclusion is and provides information about legislation relating to inclusion.
An open and inclusive workplace has lots of benefits for the organisation and the individuals working there. These include an increase in morale, better staff retention, and improved company reputation. We have lots of different training courses to offer including; Understanding Inclusion, Developing an Inclusive Culture, Excelling at Inclusion, Inclusive Behaviours, and Neurodiversity. When you have completed the training you will feel confident at addressing sensitive issues surrounding equality, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Where’s the best place to start to make your workplace more inclusive?
Having a workplace policy
A good place to start creating an inclusive and diverse workplace is by having a workplace policy. This might also be called an ‘equal opportunities policy’.
A policy helps everyone to know:
- what kind of behaviour is expected of them
- the business supports and treats everyone fairly
- about discrimination and the law, and what is not acceptable
- where to find the procedures for resolving any problems
When you make a policy you should always:
- make an action plan including what steps will be taken to make sure the policy is put into everyday practice
- consult with your employees and any representatives
- follow any existing consultations or arrangements with employees or their representatives
When making the policy all employees including managers should understand equality, diversity and inclusion in all work areas including:
- recruiting new staff
- training and promoting existing staff
- equal pay
- religious beliefs and practice
- dress code
- unacceptable behaviour
- the dismissal of staff
- redundancy
- different types of leave for parents
- flexible working
