Raquel Silvestre

Raquel is a creative and dynamic professional, with over 15 years’ experience in organisational development, culture transformation, programme management and leadership development with key expertise of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

A Portuguese of multicultural heritage, a mum of three, a Baha’i, Raquel sees herself as a world citizen with a mission to contribute to the betterment of the world.

Raquel lived in England for about 23 years where she accomplished degrees in social sciences, education, project management and leadership development, and led a progressive career that grew towards aligning her knowledge and skills to social justice, her passion from an early age.

Raquel has been increasingly dedicated to promoting and coaching others to build a culture of inclusion, equity and belonging through individual, collective and systemic change where with a community development background she has used her emotional and cultural intelligence to lead productive processes of change and culture transformation.

Raquel has been tailoring her inclusion expertise to the needs and aspirations of a variety of small, large, and global organisations across the different sectors and industries. As such, Raquel has worked with diverse communities, companies, governmental and non-governmental organisations. In the UK she held senior roles with British Red Cross, National Health Service (NHS) and Inclusive Employers. In Brazil and Cape Verde, Raquel coordinated short-term community building projects. In Mozambique she had the opportunity to (among other things) work with Deloitte, in partnership with the Mozambican Ministry of Education, as part of a consultants’ team creating the first curriculum for child educators.

Raquel’s thematic passions surround education, race and gender equity and inclusive leadership from community to global levels, which Raquel believes are key for all to thrive and for society to prosper materially, intellectually, and spiritually.
