This LGBTQ+ Awareness course raises awareness of the issues faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, and non-binary people.
The course helps you to recognise your responsibility for promoting equality and diversity, encouraging an inclusive environment, and reducing the likelihood of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and bullying of LGBTQ+ people.

By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident in your knowledge of LGBTQ+ terminology, the rights of LGBTQ+ people under UK law, and how to recognise and challenge unlawful behaviour.

Learning Outcomes  

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • define key LGBTQ+ terminology and use appropriate language 
  • adopt a zero-tolerance approach to bimisia, homomisia and transmisia in and outside of the workplace.
  • describe how LGBTQ+ rights are protected under the law
  • recognise and challenge bias, stereotyping, discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and bullying to support LGBQT+ people.
