How to achieve Inclusive Excellence
Inclusive Excellence has 3 stages that have been designed to support you on your journey to build an inclusive culture. You must complete each stage before moving on to the next.
Stage 1: Inclusive Excellence Committed
To be recognised as Inclusive Excellence Committed, you must agree to the Inclusive Excellence commitment.
Your business may be doing these things already. If so, the programme is a great way of letting everyone know that you are serious about equality, diversity, inclusion and equity.
You’ll receive:
Once you’ve agreed to the Inclusive Excellence Commitment you’ll receive:
- confirmation of your membership
- a copy of your Inclusive Excellence Commitment
- an Inclusive Excellence Committed logo that you can use on your business stationery, social media, and communications for 1 year.
- information to help you continue your journey to achieve Inclusive Excellence.
Duration of achievement recognition
1 year
Stage 2: Inclusive Excellence Award
By achieving the Inclusive Excellence Award you will showcase the excellent work you are doing to build an inclusive culture.
The Inclusive Excellence Award process will improve employee morale, commitment, and engagement by demonstrating that you value employee views.
Award Process
The Inclusive Excellence Award process has 3 steps:
- All employees in your organisation are invited to complete an Inclusive Excellence survey.
- The survey results are analysed and scored.
- A report is produced summarising your organisation’s survey findings, highlighting key themes, best practice, and areas for enhancement.
You’ll receive:
- confirmation of the achievement of your Inclusive Excellence Award
- a certificate in recognition of your achievement
- an Inclusive Excellence Award logo that you can use on your business stationery, social media and communications for 2 years.
- information on how to become an Inclusive Excellence Leader
Duration of achievement recognition
2 years
Stage 3: Inclusive Excellence Leader
By achieving Inclusive Excellence Leader, you will be seen as leading the way in your business sector and beyond, helping to positively change attitudes, behaviours, and cultures.
Accreditation Process
The Inclusive Excellence Leader process has 3 steps:
- You submit evidence to show what your organisation has done to build an inclusive culture.
- Evidence submitted is assessed and scored.
- A report is produced summarising how your organisation has built an inclusive culture. The report will highlight best practice and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
You’ll receive:
- confirmation of the achievement of Inclusive Excellence Leader
- a certificate in recognition of your achievement
- an Inclusive Excellence Leader logo that you can use on your business stationery, social media, and communications for 3 years.
- 3-year membership to the Inclusive Excellence Leaders network

3 years
Your Inclusive Excellence Journey
Progressing to Stage 2
If you are Inclusive Excellence Committed (stage 1) you have the opportunity to progress to stage 2 at any time.
At least 3 months before the expiry of your Inclusive Excellence Commitment you will receive an email advising you that your commitment will end from a certain date and inviting you to be assessed for the Inclusive Excellence Award (stage 2).
Progressing to Stage 3
Once you have achieved the Inclusive Excellence Award (stage 2) you have the opportunity to progress to stage 3 at any time.
At least 3 months before the expiry of your Inclusive Excellence Award, you will receive an email advising you that your accreditation will end from a certain date and inviting you to be assessed for Inclusive Excellence Leader accreditation (stage 3).
Renewing Inclusive Excellence Leader
Once you have achieved Inclusive Excellence Leader (stage 3) accreditation you will have the opportunity to renew this accreditation every 3 years.
At least 3 months before the expiry of your Inclusive Excellence Leader accreditation, you will receive a reminder email advising you that your accreditation will end from a certain date and inviting you to be reassessed.

To notify us of any changes to your registration, business, or contact details, email us at: info@inclusion-uk.com
You need to inform us about changes to your:
- named contact
- email address
- telephone number
- business name
- business address and postcode
You need to inform us if your business has ceased trading.
Include in the email your:
- Inclusive Excellence reference number (this begins with IE)
- business name
- business postcode
When to let us know about a change
You should make any changes to your details as soon as you can.
